Required Skills/Qualifications

It is expected that all teachers at Phillips Exeter Academy will have a proven mastery of the subject matter for which a teaching position is sought. As such it is expected that teaching faculty will have advanced degrees and teaching experience in their specific discipline.

Professional Development Opportunities

Summer grants for course work and research; possible teaching in PEA summer school; possible instructorships in programs of School Year Abroad and Washington Intern Program; foreign study tours; conference attendance; graduate-course subsidies are available to faculty. A faculty member receives full salary and a stipend each term to cover expenses during a sabbatical. A faculty member is eligible to apply for one term of sabbatical leave for every five years of service.

Compensation

  • Salaries will be in line with salaries for new teachers with advanced degrees at Phillips Exeter Academy. Teachers are given salary credit for teaching experience.
