Stephanie Bramlett is the inaugural Director of Equity and Inclusion at Phillips Exeter Academy. She works with every constituency group at PEA-- all employees, students, parents, trustees, alumni, and the broader Exeter community.  As a fervent collaborator, Stephanie leads The Core Values Project: Conversations about Anti-oppression, Community Values, and Justice, Real Talk: Identity-Informed Conversations with Colleagues,  MLK Committee, JEDI Conversations, and the summer Exeter Diversity Institutes. She is a board member of the New England chapter of People of Color in Independent Schools and Black Lives Matter Seacoast.

Stephanie arrived at Phillips Exeter from St. Luke’s School in New Canaan, CT where  she was the Director of Inclusive Excellence and Leadership and the Director of the Center for Leadership.  In her tenure at St. Luke's, she created both the Social Justice Leadership Summit, the Student Diversity Leadership Council, and the Curious Conversations program. She also led teams of staff, faculty and trustees in the NAIS Assessment of Inclusivity and Multiculturalism and in crafting the SLS 2017 Vision for Inclusive Excellence. She chaired the Connecticut Association of Independent Schools Commission on Diversity in Independent Schools and founded the Fairchester Hiring Alliance for Faculty of Color in Independent Schools.

Prior to St. Luke's, Stephanie directed  a student retention program at the University of New Hampshire for multicultural, first-generation, and low-income college students.  She also helped develop the curriculum for UNH's Martin Luther King Jr. Leadership Summit, was an academic advisor, and taught in the Women's Studies and Sociology departments. She is an active researcher of student retention, academic success, and identity development.

In addition to her scholarship, Stephanie is an avid yogi, marathon runner, aerial dancer, and weightlifting enthusiast.
