Volunteering Roles and Opportunities 

Class Volunteer Roles

Class volunteers keep their class connected and informed.  They support engagement and fundraising in support of The Exeter Fund. Terms of class volunteers are five years and coincide with reunion cycles. 

Presidents and Vice Presidents

Help lead the class and keep the class informed and connected to each other and to the Academy.

Class Correspondents

Gather class news and write a column for each issue of The Exeter Bulletin. To learn more about this position, email Cathy Webber at cmwebber@exeter.edu. 

Class Agents

Help raise support for The Exeter Fund by staying connected with classmates. They work closely with other volunteers and Academy staff to achieve class fundraising goals each year. For more information, contact exeterfund@exeter.edu.

Reunion Year Volunteers

Every five years, Exeter classes form committees to help plan the reunion program, drive attendance at events and raise funds for Exeter.  Celebrating an upcoming reunion and want to get involved? Contact us at reunions@exeter.edu. 

Program Chair

Plan the social and educational aspects of the reunion for classmates and their guests.

Attendance Chair

Recruit and manage an attendance committee that builds and encourages attendance at the reunion.

Leadership Gift Committee Chair

Recruit, organize and guide leadership gift committee in its efforts to engage potential leadership donors and support the class dollar goal for the Exeter Fund.

Participation Gift Committee Chair

Recruit, organize and lead the Participation Gift Committee in its efforts to increase overall class giving for The Exeter Fund.

Class Social Media Editor (optional)

Using social media, generate interest and enthusiasm about attending and register for reunion.

Regional Volunteer Roles

Regional volunteers help plan and host events. The duration of service may vary across regions and will be determined in partnership between the regional association leadership and Alumni Relations. Find out more about Exeter’s regional associations here.

Regional President

Acts as a local representative for area alumni and works with the Alumni Relations team to plan events, recruit volunteers and build attendance.

Regional Vice President

Assists the President in all their duties and serves as a proxy in their absence.

Regional Contact

Serves as a local contact for supporting ad hoc alumni engagement opportunities.

Alumni Admissions Representative (AdRep) Volunteers 

The Alumni Admissions Representative (AdRep) volunteers support the admissions process by conducting virtual interviews with prospective students. Alumni interviews provide meaningful personal context to each application and offer candidates an authentic glimpse into the Exeter Experience.

Exeter Alumni Association (EAA)

The Exeter Alumni Association (EAA) consists of approximately 22,000 graduates and former students of Phillips Exeter Academy.

EAA Directors

A board of elected and appointed alumni serve as Directors of the EAA. The board acts as the guiding body of the Exeter Alumni Association and in that role engages to the extent possible with a broad array of alumni. Learn more here.

Exeter’s mentor directory is a great way to engage with alumni and current students, share experiences and connect with people in or interested in your field.  Alumni are invited to opt into the mentor directory as a mentor. Learn more here.
