Meet the 2026 Teaching in the Age of AI Leadership Team
Jeanette Lovett, Institute Co-Director
Phillips Exeter Academy
Jeanette Lovett is the director of studies and a science instructor at Phillips Exeter Academy. Since joining Exeter in 2014, she has served as a dorm head, advisor, and coach for the rowing, ice hockey and cycling programs. She has also supported the Center for Teaching and Learning by organizing an academic coaching program, establishing the science learning center for extra help, and studying faculty philosophies and practices around homework.
As director of studies, Jeanette manages the regular review of the Academy’s curriculum, including the evolution of course offerings. With Exeter’s Academic Technology Coordinator Leanne Chauvette, Jeanette oversees student-facing and faculty-facing work around AI, including building AI literacy and incorporating AI tools into the curriculum.
Leanne Chauvette, Institute Co-Director
Phillips Exeter Academy
Leanne is the academic technology coordinator for Phillips Exeter Academy, where she focuses on integrating digital tools and resources into the Harkness model of teaching and learning. She holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in education. In her role, Leanne works with educators on effectively incorporating technology into their curriculum to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Prior to working at PEA, she spent 26 years in public education, working as both an elementary classroom teacher and a K-12 digital learning specialist. In recent years, she has dedicated significant time to exploring the evolving role of artificial intelligence in education. Her work includes ongoing learning, participating in policy discussions, and hands-on experimentation. Together with a colleague they started a Student AI Group and continue to lead faculty training initiatives to help educators navigate and thrive in the AI-enhanced educational landscape.
Joshua Lake, Featured Speaker
Director of Technological Innovation, Pomfret School
As current Director of Technological Innovation and a longtime science faculty member at Pomfret School, Josh bridges the gap between the cosmos and the cutting edge. He leads campus-wide AI literacy and adoption while continuing to teach astronomy and coding, his great passion in life. With a master’s in Learning and Knowledge Management Systems from Rochester Institute of Technology, Josh focuses on teaching with technology and is well-positioned to navigate the AI revolution.
Ron Spalletta, Conference Leader
St. Mark’s School
Ron has worked in the worlds of science, writing and education. After several years of teaching adults and teaching in colleges, he switched to teaching high school in 2015.
Since 2022, Ron has been discerning how to preserve education and human contact in a rapidly changing world. He has been developing AI-literacy-focused professional development with Google’s Co-Lab. Recently, he has been wrestling with how to think about prehistoric concepts of time.
