MakerFest Showcase

Lamont Gallery is closed as we install our next exhibition. We will reopen on April 1.

While modern “making” involves precision tools often controlled by computers, outcomes are never perfect.  Machines can fail, the best-laid plans can go awry, and pivots must be made.  However, this is all part and parcel of the design experience and acts as a steppingstone to the next iteration driven by knowledge through design.  Sometimes the failures themselves lead to something even better than expected.

 

The variety of work on view showcases talent, creativity, and the willingness to try and fail (sometimes over and over again) on the road to success.  We hope to inspire others in our community to follow their path to making and creating. Perhaps most importantly, this exhibition is a reminder to fall forward into the uncertainties, bumps, and multiple “failures” that just might lead to robust discoveries!
