Experienced rowers and coxswains place emphasis on improving individual technique and aerobic conditioning at low cadences in fours and eights. All look forward to occasional intramural 3-mile races and our annual 500-meter Class Day Regatta. Practices occur, on average, four days per week, including some Wednesdays. A swim test is required. Beginners are introduced to rowing and coxing in eight-oared shells after a review of boatmanship and water safety. By midseason, all are ready to participate in intramural races.
