Training teachers around the world.
Phillips Exeter Academy features a total of nine professional development institutes that attract teachers from a broad spectrum of schools, including private, parochial and public schools in the U.S. and abroad. Programs provide teachers with the opportunity to fully engage with Exeter’s established Harkness approach to teaching and learning.
The Exeter for Educators conferences provide teachers with a five day intensive workshop that focuses on a variety of subjects including math, science, technology, writing, environmental literature, humanities, and diversity. These conferences provide educators 40 clock hours toward professional development and are primarily hosted on Exeter’s campus each summer.
The Exeter Mathematics Institute brings Harkness instruction and our custom-developed, continuously evolving math materials into schools around the U.S. and Europe. Workshops are taught by PEA math instructors and based on the problem-based materials we use in classes at Exeter.
