Biography

Mr. Lincoln joined Phillips Exeter as an instructor in history in 2015. Before coming to Exeter, he earned his master’s degree from Wesleyan University, where he also served as the men’s varsity assistant soccer coach. Prior to Wesleyan, Mr. Lincoln worked at The Governor’s Academy, where he taught history, advised in a dorm, and coached soccer, basketball and lacrosse. Since 2008, he has worked at Choate Rosemary Hall’s summer program, teaching classes in history, serving as a dorm parent, and acting as the summer school’s athletic director. A native of Vermont, he graduated from Middlebury College with a major in history. He was also a four-year member of the Middlebury men’s varsity soccer team that won a national championship in 2007; he served as a team captain in 2009.

At Exeter, Mr. Lincoln teaches U.S. history, works as a dorm adviser in Ewald, and coaches girls varsity soccer.

Mr. Lincoln enjoys running, hiking, playing golf and tennis, reading, listening to music, and following the English Premier League.
