The Exeter Diversity Leadership Institute is five-day immersive training for public and private school educators leading diversity, equity, inclusivity and belonging efforts at their schools. Whether you are leading DEIB efforts in your own classroom or for your whole school, this institute is for you.
The leadership institute focuses on providing participants with the skills and confidence to guide lasting change and transform school communities. Featuring the collaborative, student-centered methods of Harkness learning, educators will be encouraged to reflect on their own identities, beliefs and leadership styles.
Participants will leave EDLI with goals for the next academic year, access to a microsite with resources, and lasting relationships with the thought partners and collaborators they meet at Exeter.
Conference programming begins Sunday afternoon. Each day participants will gather in large and small groups for classes, discussions and workshops. Evenings include optional events and social time. A detailed schedule will be emailed to participants in June.
Sessions include:
- Identity-informed Harkness pedagogy
- Strategic planning and goal setting
- Understanding intersectional identity
- Self-care for DEIB leaders
- Creating a professional development curriculum
- Supporting student activism
- Cultivating belonging for the adult community
