The Environmental Literature Institute will not be held in 2025. We look forward to seeing you in 2026!
The Environmental Literature Institute is a five-day program cultivating a community of educators interested in environmentally focused teaching and learning.
The conference is designed to expand thinking about environmental education, and is open to middle, secondary and post-secondary educators in all disciplines. Participating classroom teachers — as well as administrators, sustainability coordinators and outdoor educators — leave the institute revitalized and equipped with the resources to develop courses or refine curriculum for existing courses or programs.
In 2024, Environmental Literature Institute participants spent three days paddling on the Connecticut River, exploring the watershed and opportunities for how to bring environmental pedagogy into the classroom.
Leadership and Featured Speakers
The conference is hosted by a talented team of environmental and sustainability leaders.
