Meet the Team

The Phillips Exeter Academy seal

Since joining Institutional Advancement in 2004, I have had the privilege of working with a talented and dedicated group of individuals. I enjoy collaborating with campus partners with the goal of fostering lifelong connections with alumni, parents, and the greater Academy community.

As Manager of Advancement Operations, I provide leadership oversight within the team, ensuring quality of work, upholding industry best practices, and offering creative solutions to the many aspects of service the Operations team provides.

Laura Crawford

A native of Exeter and a member of the Institutional Advancement team since 2004, I’ve spent my Exeter career working in data management and currently hold the role of manager of advancement information services. I am responsible for developing strategic business process improvements, reporting and analytics solutions, and vendor and project management expertise related to the Academy’s Institutional Advancement mission. We work with a variety of software vendors to provide our colleagues with the information and tools they need to be successful.

Carol Culbertson

I am originally from the Philadelphia area but became a New England transplant in 2003 after hiking the Appalachian Trail and falling in love with New Hampshire. I have lived in Exeter since 2009 and hope to call it home for many years to come. My professional experience has been primarily with human services agencies within the nonprofit field, including operations, database management, gift recording and event planning. I was thrilled to join this community within the larger Exeter community in May 2018.

Dolly Jo McPherson

Born and raised in Presque Isle, Maine, among the “tater” fields of Aroostook County, my childhood revolved around family, school, athletics, tap, ballet and piano lessons and endless hours of jumping on our trampoline. Life was grand! I always enjoyed learning and was very happy to be able to attend college at the alma mater of my father and four older siblings. A family tradition, so to say. Three months after graduation, I was hired at my old high school as the Computer Aide, where I monitored a room of 50 IBM machines and helped students with any issues they encountered.

Jennifer Norton

I have lived in New Hampshire all my life and currently live in the Seacoast area. I began my career at the Academy in the summer of 1996 when I joined the Office of Planned Giving. In my current position, I am responsible for training and support for all software applications and technology to help advance the mission of Institutional Advancement.

I volunteer in my children’s schools and with Pease Greeters.

Walter Tate

Walter Tate

Director of Advancement Strategic Planning and Analytics

I grew up in Newburyport, Massachusetts, and joined the Academy in 2013. After spending close to 20 years bridging business and technology initiatives for portfolio management, securities trading and investment administration in the financial services industry, I appreciate having the opportunity to bring new ideas and concepts to the Academy by collaborating and creating solutions to help align people, process and technology while increasing operational effectiveness and philanthropic support.

Dawn Yorke

I joined the Academy in the Office of Institutional Advancement in March 2010 as the history file coordinator. In April 2011, I stayed with the Operations team, moving into my current role of data management specialist. My responsibilities include supporting all facets of Advancement by ensuring the integrity of constituent data and all related processes. I also work in gift processing and spend time throughout the year working with the alumni and parent team supporting events such as reunions and family weekend.
