Today and for centuries to come.
John and Elizabeth Phillips founded Exeter with a generous gift and a mission to educate youth from every quarter. Over the years, Academy alumni, families and friends have upheld and nurtured the Phillips’ original vision through their own extraordinary loyalty and support.
Endowment gifts acknowledge our rich history while setting a course for a bright future. They directly impact our ability to support the students, faculty and staff who are at the core of what we do. Today and for centuries to come.
Davis Center
The Classics Department will have a new home when the Academy’s original library is renovated. New classrooms and department offices will be located on the first floor. Upstairs, the Amen Room will be restored for club meetings and visiting scholar talks, and the main reading room will become a comfortable, flexible event and study space for the entire campus community.
Academy Building
The Academy Building has served as the real and symbolic heart of life at Exeter for more than a century. Now, as the school approaches its 250th anniversary, this vital academic and community hub will be renewed and reimagined for the Academy of today and tomorrow, including 45 updated Harkness classrooms; an expanded Assembly Hall; and a state-of-the-art Design Lab.
New Dining Hall
The Academy will replace the venerable but outdated Wetherell Dining Hall with a functional, welcoming space that is much more than a cafeteria. The new building will be designed to foster a sense of togetherness: dining in community, gathering for school-wide celebrations, and meeting comfortably as a team, a club or a class.
Support Equity & Inclusion
Exeter's endowment provides more than 50 percent of the Academy’s operating revenue, including an array of funds directly supporting equity and inclusion in our community.
Support Financial Aid
Making Exeter affordable and available to "youth from every quarter" requires the Academy offer significant financial aid. Your support makes that possible.
