Our Environmental Mission Statement
Phillips Exeter Academy is committed to fostering a culture of sustainability in our community. Through our academic programs, we educate our students about the principles of sustainability and the threat of climate change and cultivate their capacity to take action. Through our operations, we will continue to manage our natural resources and campus facilities responsibly, reduce our environmental impact, and minimize our contributions to climate change.

Awarding sustainability

Created in the spring of 2025, the Class of 1964 Environmental Stewardship and Sustainability Award is awarded to three or four students during the annual Prize Day Assembly at the end of each school year.

This newly created prize seeks to award students who have made outstanding contributions toward achieving the goals outlined in the Academy’s Sustainability and Climate Action Plan, or who have otherwise promoted the principles of sustainability and environmental stewardship during their time at the Academy. A sincere thank you to the alumni members of the Class of 1964 who created this fund to support current student’s passions for sustainability.
