Field Hockey - V

The Exeter field hockey team was the first girls team to represent the Academy when it debuted in the fall of 1970. Since then, the program has focused on developing great student-athletes and leaders. Building community is important to Big Red, and they give back by participating in yearly breast cancer awareness games and hosting food drives. After graduating from the Academy, many former field hockey players have gone on to enjoy terrific careers at the collegiate level, including programs in the Ivy League and the NESCAC League. The team plays and trains on Hatch Field, one of two turf fields on the Academy campus.

Exeter lost to Deerfield today. Upper Adora Perry and Senior Eden Welch drove the attack. GK Grace Puchalski had a solid performance against a very skilled Deerfield offense.

Field Hockey wins in overtime 1-0! New upper Sally Hunter & upper Adora Perry amped into action in the OT, with Hunter scoring the winning goal off a corner, after a full 60 minutes of Captain Grace Puchalski at GK and Kate Nixon keeping our cage safe & demanding their team step up in the last five minutes of the 4th quarter to deny SPS a clean corner as the clock wound down.

Big Red lost a thriller under the lights to a talented Nobles team. Eloise Goedkoop opened the scoring to give Big Red an early 1-0 lead before Eden Welch connected late to stake a 2-1 edge for the hosts. Exeter's defense was outstanding throughout the game, particularly Anjali Frary and and Jess Chen, who helped keep the Nobles offense at bay while Grace Puchalski made several key saves throughout the game. Nobles scored late in the fourth to even the score at 2-2 before earning a 3-2 win in overtime.

Senior Anjali Frary gets Exeter on the board to tie a talented Pingree. Senior captain Eden Welch ties it up in the fourth but Pingree was able to pull ahead on a late corner making it 3-2. Senior GK Grace Puchalski was solid in goal.

Exeter came out strong today. Eden Welch scored the first goal of the game. Brooks tied up the score in the 3rd quarter. The game ended in overtime, finalizing the game 1-1.

Senior Captain Eden Welch had 2 goals to lead the attack along with Uppers Jess Chen, Adora Perry and Senior Anjali Frary who each put one on the board. Senior Captain Grace Puchalski gets another shutout and had a solid performance.

A crucial OT win against Hotchkiss, a powerhouse we haven't played in 10 years; New Upper Sally Hunter scored early and again with 1:20 left on the clock in OT. Captain Grace Puchalski in goal and Captain Kate Nixon in center back anchored the team. Senior Sheala Iacobucci stepped into a clutch role, and Upper Jess Chen and new Lower Hannah Hoyt rocked the offensive momentum.

New Lower Hannah Hoyt scored early to take the lead but GA’s corner unit was able to answer back. We honored our 7 seniors as their last home game; Captains Eden Welch, Grace Puchalski and Kate Nixon along with Eloise Goedkoop, Anjali Frary, Sheala Iaccubucci and Agatha Praire.
11/12/2022	12:00pm	Andover	Away	L 4-1
Andover struck first with a goal in the opening five minutes. Exeter would even the score at 1-1 when Adora Perry ’24 found the back of the net on a one-timer from Kate Rose ‘24. Andover would take a 2-1 edge into halftime after capitalizing on a corner before adding a pair in the second half to earn a 4-1 win.
