Raised on a New Hampshire sheep farm, Ms. Russell taught history and social science in the public schools of Newton, Massachusetts for 10 years, then moved to Switzerland to teach at the Collège du Léman. Before becoming a teacher, Ms. Russell was a researcher, consultant and analyst at Harvard’s Global Equity Initiative and Institute for International Development, Tufts University’s School of Nutrition, and the United States Agency for International Development in Pakistan. Fluent in Mandarin, Ms. Russell served as the China office project director for Cyrus Eaton World Trade. She and her husband live on campus.
