Associate Athletic Trainer
Kayla Medina

B.S. University of Maine, Orono

M.S. Arizona School of Health Sciences

Ms. Medina joined the Exeter community in 2008 after working at Brown University for four years.  She earned her B.S. in Kinesiology from the University of Maine (Orono) and holds a M.S. in Sports Health Care from the Arizona School of Health Sciences (Mesa). Along with her certification as an athletic trainer she is also certified as a strength and conditioning specialist (NSCA) and had previously been certified as a massage therapist (NCBTMB).

Before Brown, Ms. Medina worked at The Hill School (Pottstown, Pennsylvania) and at Brophy College Preparatory (Phoenix, Arizona), where she discovered her passion for working with secondary school students, helping guide them through their formative years.

Since arriving at Exeter, she has served as a student adviser and as a dorm affiliate in Bancroft Dormitory and Browning House. In her position as athletic trainer, she does not have formal classroom teaching responsibilities but believes that educating students about their bodies and encouraging them to become active participants in their overall health and recovery is one of the most important parts of her job.

Ms. Medina views herself as a lifelong learner and often combines her love of learning with her love of travel by attending conferences and workshops.  She loves to read and can often be found sifting through the shelves of used bookstores.
