This course provides an introduction to the economic way of thinking and covers the fundamentals of both microeconomics and macroeconomics.

This course provides an introduction to the economic way of thinking and covers the fundamentals of both microeconomics and macroeconomics. We begin by examining supply and demand and the role of incentives and then discuss market failures, business behavior, financial markets and the role of government intervention in the economy. We also explore the causes of recessions and booms, the role of fiscal and monetary policies, and the economics of international trade and globalization. Open to seniors.
