Students increase their vocabulary, range of expression and understanding of grammatical structures, while exploring topics related to science and technology, environmental issues and other 21st-century challenges, as they pertain to Spanish speaking countries. Materials may include essays, short stories, radio programs, films, newspapers and magazine articles. Attention is given to the development of various forms of written and verbal communication: interpretive, persuasive, interpersonal and presentational, using AP Spanish guidelines and rubrics. This course, along with Spanish 503 and 504, provides a special review for the SAT II subject test and AP Spanish Language and Culture exam in May, but need not be taken in conjunction or in sequence.
