Porter Hayes

Biography

I grew up in Exeter, so I am excited to be back home.  Before joining the office of Institutional Advancement, I spent six years working in the Exeter Admissions Office as an associate director of admissions, and prior to that, I spent four years at Pomfret School as assistant director of admissions and international student coordinator.  Before working at Pomfret School, I worked in the front office at Major League Lacrosse and the Boston Celtics.

As a Bridgton Academy alum, I wanted to return to education and independent schools when my wife Ellee Dean, PEA ’01, an English teacher at Exeter, began her career at Pomfret. I enjoyed spending time in the dormitory and when a job opened up in the Pomfret admissions office, I already knew I wanted to be a member of the community. This is the same way I feel now about PEA.

In addition to my work in Institutional Advancement, I live in Merrill Hall with my wife, Ellee, and our sons, Bode and Wyatt. I also advise a group of 7 students, advise the Exeter business club and I coached the girls’ varsity lacrosse team for the past six years.
