Swamp Slime and Tombstone Brownies!

Costumes abounded on campus today...
Today is Halloween at Exeter and students are dressed to surprise. They’re all here – ballerinas (one in pink Wellingtons), devils, rock stars, cowboys, even a human Christmas tree – going to class and enjoying the change in routine.
This Christmas tree listens happily in science classOn this cool fall day, the students came together on the quad to view the judging of best skit, fortified by hot chocolate, cider and Munchkins (the donut kind). Five groups performed from the balcony of Jeremiah Smith Hall. Judges awarded points – from 1 (not good) to 10 (superlative).
First prize went to the 4 students who took on civics with their rendition of “The Second Amendment – The Right to Bear Arms.” Aya ’11, Alayna ’11, Alexander ’11 and Eric ’10 horsed around (or beared around?), some clad in bear suits, others with bare arms, to much applause. Second place was bestowed on “The Pirate,” performed by Spencer ’10. Third place fell to “Lion Rampant,” played by Devi ’10. Kemi ’11 performed a song from the musical Grease. Sisters Mary ’10 and Hannah ’11 performed a lumberjack skit.
The judges – Dan Morrissey, dean of students; Russell Weatherspoon, dean of residential life; Carol Cahalane, health education instructor; and Jan Trueman, day student program coordinator – contributed to the fun.
Dining Services is also in the Halloween mood, serving a lunch of Blood Soup, Skeleton Bones, Bat Wings, White Worms, Brains in a Half Shell, Swamp Slime and Tombstone Brownies.
