Louise Breen '10, US Women's Eight Team, Bring Home Gold from World Rowing Junior Championships

Photo: Row2k.com/R. van SteennisThey've won! Louise Breen '10 and the other members of the junior women's eight brought home gold this weekend in one of the last races of the day at the World Rowing Junior Championships, held in Brive-la-Gaillarde, France.

The US crew finished the course with a time of 06:26:89, earning the only gold medal for the US that day. The crew is now Olympic Champion Eight, and holds the World's Best Time. The US beat out the New Zealand and German crews, and the top three finishers earned a place for their country in the Youth Olympic Games next August in Singapore. The race's final results were:  1. USA, 2. New Zealand, 3. Germany, 4. Romania, 5. France, 6. Russia.
