Three-peat! Christian Petry '21 claimed his third straight Class A title in the 106-pound weight division.

Exeter wrestling has once again proved to be a premier program in Class A, finishing second in a talented field at last weekend’s championships at the Hyde School. This marks the second straight season Big Red has finished as the runner-up, following a streak of four straight Class A titles.

Christian Petry '21 helped lead the way for Big Red as he became a three-peat champion in the 106-pound weight division. Tyler Morris '20 also became a three-time Class A champion with a dominating run on Saturday. Morris, who won the 132-pound division for the first time after claiming titles at 126 pounds in each of the last two seasons, dominated all four of his opponents, winning with three falls and a combined score of 32-0.

George Harrington '20 also claimed a Class A title in the 285-pound weight class. Harrington, who was the top seed in the division, defeated all three of his opponents, including teammate Ethan Rosenthal '20 in the semifinal round.

Chris MacArthur '23 finished second in the 220-pound class, while Jonathan Jeun '23 (106 pounds), Matthew Indelicarto '22 (138 pounds), Grant Goodall '20 (182 pounds), and Liam Brown '23 (195 pounds) each collected third-place finishes in their respective weight divisions. Rosenthal and Zander Galli '22 (152 pounds) earned fourth place finishes.

Big Red will host one final tune-up Saturday before traveling to the New England Championships on Feb. 14-15. Exeter is a 15-time New England champion, last winning in 2017.
