Academy Life Day Brings Fun and Friendship
It felt a bit blustery after such a mild fall, but the change in temperatures didn’t faze anyone. On September 24, students and faculty took a break from their regular class schedule to engage in bonding activities with their dormitory and advising groups — an annual tradition known as Academy Life Day. Some stayed put to play on campus, and others rolled out after breakfast on a fleet of buses, toward favorite spots around the Seacoast area.
Whatever adventures the day brought their way — whether games of ultimate Frisbee on the quad or spikeball on the beach; apple picking and cider donuts at Cider Hill Farm; field games in Prescott Park and a walk around Portsmouth; cookie baking at an adviser’s house; or harvesting gourds at Barker’s Farm — day students and boarders alike welcomed the opportunity for laughter, fun and friendship after two full weeks of classes.
