Phillips Exeter Academy Students Elected as Early Members to Cum Laude Society



Exeter, NH (October 6, 2009)—The Phillips Exeter Academy Chapter of the Cum Laude Society has recently elected 16 seniors as early members of the academic honor society. This year’s induction ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 25, 2009, with guest speaker Suzanne Young, Tufts University chemistry professor and NASA research associate.

This year’s Cum Laude Society members are:  Soh Yoon Ahn, of Seoul, Korea; Jamie J. Ashton, of Amesbury, MA; Max R. Bodoia, of Lakewood, WA; Louise N. Breen, of North Hampton, NH; Eric B. Caine, of McLean, VA; Jenna M. Cook, of Newburyport, MA; Madeleine S. Henry, of Katonah, NY; Yun Jee Kang, of Guilderland, NY; Adam Landau, of Rye, NH; Angela Lee, of Austin, TX; Devi K. Lockwood, of Ridgefield, CT; Viveca W. S. Morris, of Winston-Salem, NC; Nellie May Pickett Peyton, of Charlottesville, VA; Christina Poa, of Manhattan Beach, CA; Vikas Velagapudi, of Moline, IL; Jaewon F. Yang, of Seoul, Korea. 

Cum Laude, modeled on the Phi Beta Kappa Society, comprises public high schools and incorporated secondary schools throughout the nation. Exeter’s chapter, the oldest in continuous existence, dates back to the founding of the society in 1907.
