Phillips Exeter Hosts Third “Women in Islam” Night

Exeter, NH (April 7, 2009)—On Thursday, April 23, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., Phillips Exeter Academy’s Muslim Student Association will host its third “Women in Islam” forum. The event is sponsored by the Academy’s Religious Services, and will be held in the Sanctuary of Phillips Church, located on the corner of Tan Lane and Front Street. It is free and open to the public.

Speakers for the forum will be: Zainab Alwani, a scholar on “The Role of Women in Islamic Jurisprudence Literature”; and Tayyibah Taylor, the founder, publisher and editor of Azizah—a magazine reflecting the voice of Muslim women.
