Biography

Dr. Amy Blackburn joined the Academy's Counseling Department in December 2018. She has worked in a variety of clinical settings over the last 25 years but most enjoys working with young people and families in school settings.

Through her work in both public and independent schools, she has developed an expertise in neuropsychology and is passionate about helping students succeed both personally and academically. Other clinical interests include sexual and gender identity development, resiliency, coping with anxiety and depression, loss and divorce, cognitive and dialectical behavior therapy (CBT, DBT), and transition to college.

Dr. Blackburn has two sons, one in high school and one in college, and lives off campus with her wife, Kirsten. She loves sports and has played, coached and watched for many years.
